Siang River is home to a precious population of dolphins, and their well-being and survival are crucial to the delicate ecosystem of the river. Threatened by human activities such as pollution and habitat destruction, the dolphins of Siang River face a perilous future.

Ngok Siang, a dedicated project working tirelessly to raise awareness about the importance of preserving these majestic creatures, is taking a sustainable approach to protect the Siang River dolphins. Through a series of engaging initiatives, including social media campaigns, informative posters, and community meetings, Ngok Siang aims to educate the public about the vital role dolphins play in maintaining the ecological balance of the river. In addition to spreading awareness, Ngok Siang is actively advocating for sustainable alternatives to minimize human interference in the Siang River. By promoting ecotourism, engaging with local school children, and petitioning the government to designate the stretch of Siang river especially Borgulli range where dolphins are normally sighted, as a conservation area, the project is working towards a future where the Siang River and its inhabitants can thrive in harmony. With a vision to transition into a non-profit organization by November 2024, Ngok Siang is committed to long-term conservation efforts in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. By expanding its reach to the breeding grounds of dolphins in Assam and initiating river basin cleaning campaigns, the project is paving the way for a more sustainable future for the Siang River ecosystem. It is imperative that we come together to support initiatives like Ngok Siang in their mission to protect the Siang River dolphins. By promoting responsible and sustainable practices, we can ensure that future generations can continue to marvel at the beauty of these remarkable creatures in their natural habitat. Let us join hands to preserve the Siang River dolphins and safeguard the ecological balance of this unique and precious ecosystem.
